- The "Mil-Top" Hunting Boot sock. (L, XL)
Choose the "Mil-Top Hunting" Boot Sock for extreme warmth and as-good-as-it-gets for its moisture regain properties (the ability of a fiber to hold water without feeling wet or clammy). Bison down has a moisture regain 12 times greater than comparable wool.
Anyone that has ever worn a pair of military polypro socks know how supportive they are, but you have never felt the foot bed comfort and warmth of our bison/yak yarn blend at the same time.
The result is the exact sock that Fox River knits for the US Military, but with your feet surrounded with the warm, moisture - wicking, comfortable, durable proportions of our "Close-to-the-Ultimate" Boot Sock. This Mil-Top sock is about 3" taller than our CTTU boot sock ... right at mid-calf ... and with the stay-in-place power of mil spec polypropylene.
As to scent capturing, see the two reviews on the home page. We had one other guy in the store that claims to have worn them a ridiculous 12 days elk hunting. Now that would just be "Socks Abuse"! But these are the top of the hunting/moving/walking sock food chain. They are my "go-to" cold weather outdoor sock any more.
Machine washable. Knit at Fox River Mills, those sock creating geniuses marry military spec polypropylene on the sock shaft with our close-to-bulletproof bison down/yak down/silicon polyester yarn in the foot. 28% Bison/28% yak/27% nylon/14% silicon polyester/3% Lycra spandex. Nylon overplating for abrasion resistance. Knit in the USA.
- Bison Crew Socks (S, M, L, XL)
36% bison down, 36% silk, 26% nylon, and 2% spandex. The shorter brother to the Technical boot sock - the Fox River crew sock. Same terry loop cushioned foot bed, vented and structured instep for smooth fit...but crew height (and without the shin cushion). Bison/silk/nylon/spandex. Also nylon over-plaited toe and heel. Machine washable cold. Knit in Osage, IA, by Fox River Mills.
- Bison Technical(Silk) Boot Socks (M, L, XL)
Brand New and just in time to stop cold feet. 32% Bison down, 32% silk, 26% nylon, 4% Tencel, 4% polyester, & 2% spandex technical boot sock. It has taken us almost 4 years, but we are pretty sure we have it right. Knit in Osage, IA, by Fox River Mills, this sock has a terry loop cushioned foot bed, vented and structured instep for smooth fit, terry loop shin pad and just enough spandex to hold it above your 12" boot top...but not enough to cut down circulation. Nylon over-plaited in the toe and way up past the heel for long smooth wear. Machine washable cold.
Machine washable. 28% Bison/28% yak/27% nylon/14% silicon polyester/3% Lycra spandex. Full terry-loop knitting. Nylon over-plating for abrasion resistance. Knit exclusively for Herd Wear/Buffalo Gold by Cabot Hosiery, Northfield, VT.
