Brining Your Turkey
This is guaranteed to enhance your All Natural; Free Range Turkeys. We had one of these last Thanksgiving and our family declared it the best turkey they ever had tasted. We brined it overnight.
1 Whole Turkey1 gallon apple cider1 gallon water2 cups course Kosher salt1 1/2 cups brown sugar3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar1 large sprig sage1 medium sprig rosemary
Combine all ingredients except turkey. Place in container. Pour brine over turkey and make sure bird is covered by brine and that you only use glass, food-grade hard plastic or stainless steel container. Hold up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. Remove from brine and rinse in cold water. Discard brine. Roast bird in covered roaster at 325 degrees F. Make sure to add about 1/2 inch of apple cider to bottom of roaster.
