Our ranch encompasses several hundred acres where the bison graze naturally on the open pastures covered with natural grasses, never receiving hormones or steroids. Our bison are grassfed because we believe grassfed and grass finished is better for the bison, for our health as consumers and better for the environment. Northstar Bison meat products are made with 100% bison, no pork, beef or fat is added. This grass-fed product is naturally lower in fat, calories, and cholesterol than beef, chicken, pork, ostrich and most wild game. It is higher in protein AND, most importantly, it tastes great! We own our own processing plant where our animals are harvested in a 'field kill' fashion. This method secures the lowest stress environment for the animals thus preserving a very tender, slightly sweeter tasting meat. We have two ranches north of Rice Lake and have meat store on the ranch for your convenience to pick up the product directly from us.
